Sutter Home was founded in the late 1880's and has always produced quality wines at reasonable prices. The Trinchero Family purchased the winery in 1947 and have pioneered many industry innovations  over the past half century including pioneering the launch of White Zinfandel. Today, it is the second largest independent family run winery in the US.

The winey boasts selling both the No. 1 Rosé wine in the US with its Sutter Home White Zinfandel and its Ménage á Trois Red is the US's best selling red wine. In 2008, at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, the Trinchero winery won US Winery of the Year.
